My name is Yoan Esquijarosa and I am honored to serve as the Co-Founder and Director of Edugether Child Development Center. For
the past eight years, I’ve been deeply committed to creating and leading a nurturing environment rooted in holistic, multicultural
early childhood education. With a strong background in child development and a lifelong dedication to quality care, my mission is
to ensure that every child receives personalized attention, emotional support, and meaningful opportunities to grow and thrive.
My academic journey—paired with hands-on experience conducting research on parental influence and working with children, given me
a distinctive cross-cultural perspective. At Edugether, we intentionally blend the Swedish emphasis on community, nature and emotional
intelligence with the American focus on individualized development, curiosity and academic readiness.
The Edugether 360+® Curriculum
At the heart of Edugether is our Edugether 360+® curriculum, a comprehensive and innovative educational model that places
social-emotional development and language immersion at its core.
We believe that emotional intelligence, empathy, self-regulation and strong communication skills are the foundation for lifelong
learning and well-being. Our approach is designed to nurture each child's confidence, resilience and sense of belonging.
Our Spanish Immersion Program is a key component of our curriculum, providing children the opportunity to develop bilingual language
skills in a natural, play-based environment. Through daily exposure to Spanish in songs, stories, routines and conversation, children
develop both fluency and cultural awareness—preparing them to thrive in an increasingly global world.
Our curriculum also thoughtfully integrates the strengths of several globally respected educational philosophies:
Montessori
Education plays a vital role in the lives of infants, toddlers, and young children. It equips them with the tools to explore, observe, experiment,
and discover, fostering their personal development and opening doors to cultural and intellectual exchange. At our center, we recognize the
responsibility of our staff in incorporating cultural awareness into early childhood education.
We believe that infants, toddlers, and young children deserve the opportunity to develop empathy, language skills, and an appreciation for diverse
cultures. It's essential to nurture their critical thinking abilities and foster a positive attitude towards technology from an early age. We
prioritize creating an inclusive environment for all participants where they can feel valued and respected.
Our educators are dedicated to nurturing curiosity, creativity, and interest in infants, toddlers, and young children, fostering a collaborative
learning environment. We emphasize continuous collaboration with parents and caregivers to ensure the holistic development of infants, toddlers,
and young children. By providing a safe and secure environment for all participants, we give them the opportunity to grow and help them thrive.
We are dedicated to adapting our childcare services to accommodate the needs of individuals with special needs, ensuring inclusivity for all.
When we go inside we usually go straight to wash our hands, and then we go to take our lunches.
We always sit down together at the table, each child chooses which chair to sit on that day, although we always have the same plates and glasses, each one recognizes their plate. Thus we teach them that there are things that are personal and others that do not and that we must respect that who arrives first in a chair has the right to it.
During the nap time we always have a few minutes to read before going to sleep, after about 10 minutes, the curtains close, the lights go out and the music turns on. As this is a routine, it is very easy for them to assimilate that it is time to sleep and immediately fall asleep. The exercise of the whole morning exhausted them enough.
All this is a routine that we repeat every day, but the most important thing is the different thing that arises in each unique moment and those are the moments in which they learn and grow, developing new motor skills, social skills, language, reasoning, problem solving. That's why even though each day seems the same, everyone is different, unique and special, like our children. Have a great weekend, I see you next Tuesday, enjoy the pictures.
