ABOUT EDUGETHER

Emma Fällman | Center Director

My name is Emma Fällman, and I am honoured to serve as one of the directors at Edugether Child Development Center. With a robust background in childcare and a fervent dedication to education, I am fully committed to delivering exemplary care for your children.
Studying at Umea University and being involved in parental influence research and working with children in Sweden have provided me with a distinctive perspective on childcare. At Edugether, we prioritize each child's well-being and emphasize Swedish culture and values while also recognizing the importance of the American school system, which focuses on individualized development and learning. We adhere to the philosophy of a holistic view, ensuring that every aspect of a child's growth is nurtured.
Join us on this exciting journey as we create a space where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Best regards and hope l see you soon.

Why Edugether

Education plays a vital role in the lives of infants, toddlers, and young children. It equips them with the tools to explore, observe, experiment, and discover, fostering their personal development and opening doors to cultural and intellectual exchange. At our center, we recognize the responsibility of our staff in incorporating cultural awareness into early childhood education.

We believe that infants, toddlers, and young children deserve the opportunity to develop empathy, language skills, and an appreciation for diverse cultures. It's essential to nurture their critical thinking abilities and foster a positive attitude towards technology from an early age. We prioritize creating an inclusive environment for all participants where they can feel valued and respected.

Our educators are dedicated to nurturing curiosity, creativity, and interest in infants, toddlers, and young children, fostering a collaborative learning environment. We emphasize continuous collaboration with parents and caregivers to ensure the holistic development of infants, toddlers, and young children. By providing a safe and secure environment for all participants, we give them the opportunity to grow and help them thrive. We are dedicated to adapting our childcare services to accommodate the needs of individuals with special needs, ensuring inclusivity for all.

Play-Based Approach

The environment should inspire infants, toddlers, and young children, regardless of their background, to play and explore together. Team members must interact with children to build trusting and positive family experiences. Play has been shown to be important for imagination, social skills, and cognitive development in children. It stimulates their motor skills, communication skills, collaboration skills, and problem-solving skills. It helps them identify and better understand how to use shapes, images, and symbols in their daily lives. Physical activity gives children the opportunity to experience the joy of movement and develop an interest in being physically active. Infants, toddlers, and young children should have the right to participate in play based on their conditions and abilities. When participants engage in physical activity, eat healthy foods, and lead active lifestyles, education can teach them how these habits impact their well-being.

WELCOME TO EDUGETHER!

OUR PHILOSOPHY & MISSION

At Edugether Child Development Center, we embrace a philosophy grounded in the principle that all infants, toddlers, and young children are unique, valuable, and deserving of respect, dignity, and love. Our goal is to create an inclusive and secure environment where every child feels seen, heard, and accepted, regardless of their backgrounds, abilities, or identities. We treat infants, toddlers, and young children with respect, warmth, and compassion, listening to their voices, taking their feelings seriously, and supporting their individual needs and development. Our aim is to foster a loving and supportive atmosphere where all participants can feel welcomed and cherished. We adhere to a child-centered approach that prioritizes the holistic development of everyone, recognizing the interconnectedness of their physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and creative dimensions. Our pedagogy is based on a philosophical foundation that emphasizes the importance of promoting cultural understanding, linguistic proficiency, and inclusion. A central principle in this philosophy is the recognition of the profound impact language has on an individual's cognitive development and its role in shaping their identity and worldview.

We firmly believe that a bilingual environment not only enhances infants', toddlers', and young children's language skills but also provides them with a deeper understanding of and appreciation for different cultures and their significance. Our philosophy is deeply rooted in the principles of the Swedish school system, which values play, exploration, and inquiry as essential tools for learning and growth. At the same time, we draw inspiration from the American tradition of personalized education, celebrating the diversity of children's backgrounds, experiences, and abilities, and promoting a culture of inclusion and justice.

What we do Every Day
OUR ROUTINES

WE START OUR DAY WITH BREAKFAST

Every day we start our day with breakfast in which we practice independence and each one serves what they will eat.

WE SING, READ A STORY, DANCE AND REMEMBER TASKS

Every day we have our circle time, in which we greet each other, sing, read a story, dance and remember what we will do all day long.

FREE PLAY, PAINT, PLAY-DOH, PUZZLES AND DRAMATIC PLAY

We have every day, in the morning and afternoon, moments of free play in which they decide what they want to do, paint, play-doh, puzzles, dramatic play area, or with musical instruments.

COOKING EXPERIENCE

On Wednesdays we have our Cooking Experience and because our children are so small we do not make complicated recipes, but rather we focus on the exploration of certain foods and what we can do with them.

WE GO OUTSIDE TO PLAY FOR A WHILE

Every day before lunch we go outside to play for a while, there we have several options, play in the house, pretend to prepare food for someone else, play in the sandbox, share and take turns with the motorcycle, play with balls, jump in the puddles, etc.

WASH OUR HANDS AND TAKE OUR LUNCHES

When we go inside we usually go straight to wash our hands, and then we go to take our lunches.
We always sit down together at the table, each child chooses which chair to sit on that day, although we always have the same plates and glasses, each one recognizes their plate. Thus we teach them that there are things that are personal and others that do not and that we must respect that who arrives first in a chair has the right to it.

NAP TIME AN A FEW MINUTES TO READ

During the nap time we always have a few minutes to read before going to sleep, after about 10 minutes, the curtains close, the lights go out and the music turns on. As this is a routine, it is very easy for them to assimilate that it is time to sleep and immediately fall asleep. The exercise of the whole morning exhausted them enough.

WAKE UP, EAT OUR SNACK AND GO OUT TO PLAY

When we wake up, we put on our shoes, take our sheets in each bag and the beds return to their place, changing diapers and after washing our hands we eat our snack, then we go out to play again and come back to prepare to leave to home.

ROUTINE THAT WE REPEAT EVERY DAY

All this is a routine that we repeat every day, but the most important thing is the different thing that arises in each unique moment and those are the moments in which they learn and grow, developing new motor skills, social skills, language, reasoning, problem solving. That's why even though each day seems the same, everyone is different, unique and special, like our children. Have a great weekend, I see you next Tuesday, enjoy the pictures.

DAY END
It is a great place where your child can learn in a peaceful environment and also have the opportunity to learn two languages English and Spanish. Her environment is essential for children to feel secure and ready to learn. Marianne is a lovely and caring person your kids are in good hands.
